The donor provided Elaf Org. with 15000 USD to buy a food baskets and then distribute them to the displaced people. The contents of food basket are: 3 kg sugar- 3 kg rice- 3 kg Borghoul- 0.25 kg tea- 4 l vegitable oil- 1 kg vercimile- 1 kg pasta- 1 kg black lentil- 1 kg salt 1 kg cruched lentil. – 700 food baskets will be bought from the provider (due to Elaf finance policy) – Turkish Red Crescent will received 100 food baskets to be distributed in western rural Aleppo. – 600 food baskets will be distributed to the IDPs from east Ghouta. – Communication with the local councils to get the beneficiary lists in coordination with “Nosret Al Mathloom) Association. – starting the distribution process with the presence of M&E tem to ensure the propre way for distribution and quantity an quality materials received. – The donor allocated 10% of the total project pudget as administrative spending for ELAF.

Women's Empowerment, Agricultural Resilience in Emergency

(1) WEARE provided fodder to 700 beneficiaries, during the off-grazing period to help them to produce milk and hence to provide them with livelihood resources.

(2) The project provided veterinary services and medicines to 1200 beneficiaries , through distributing 1200 veterinary kit, each kit contains Endoparasites and 10 kg salt block of minerals and vitamins, and through veterinary visit by Mobile Agriculture Clinic (MAC) team to the beneficiaries’ homes to assess and treat their animals as per the need, to help it to get better health condition and hence better milk production yield.

(3) The project provided dairy production equipment by distributing kitchen sets to 1200 beneficiaries, each kit contains two cooking pots 5-7 L, stirring spoon, plastic milk filter, Rennet, plastic bucket, 15 milk plastic buckets, to increase their capacity to prepare dairy products and sell them on the market.

(4) WEARE provided training to female headed-household breeders, covering dairy production and livestock breeding for 1200 beneficiaries rather than 100, due to savings. This activity has been implemented by specialized agronomists and veterinarians. each training session covered different topics of manufacturing dairy products and methods of breeding livestock, and through distributing technical manual for livestock breeding and dairy production prepared by GC and Elaf.

where the project aimed to reach to ( 525 for sheep & fodder , 300 for winter season , and 300 for spring season ) vulnerable household, to support the life-saving. Livelihoods opportunities, resilience, and reducing the social and economic impact of some crisis affected households in NWS, by increasing agricultural production, protecting and building productive assets and restoring or creating income generating opportunities. The work was aimed to reach to the proposed results, since the targeted communities have been chosen according to the vulnerable and technical assessments, so we chose11 communities; nine of them benefited from Syria Response and Intervention Support for Emergencies RISE and the 2 remained villages didn’t benefit because the project was closed before these two villages benefit from the spring kit activity.
The community assessment of the villages and regions was conducted through two types of assessments; the technical assessment had carried out for 27 villages since the data analyses for vulnerable assessment had nominated 30 villages according to the scoring table, 3 out of 30 not accessible and not suitable to implement the activities.
Then we got the final beneficiaries list from GC after analyzing beneficiaries’ data and sharing it. The distribution process started, Elaf team trained the beneficiaries on sheep’ care and protection and nutrition and followed up of beneficiaries’ planted lands through F.D.G with beneficiaries and farmers by using community and Individual Assessments.

The acheivement steps are: – Receipt of 150 tons of wheat flour from the donor in bab Al Hawa – Contrcting with a baker for baking the mentioned amount of flour. – Transportation the flour to Elaf bakery in Hbit. – Start producing bread in the bakery and transpot the bread to be distributed to the targeted communities with cost price. – Elaf will be responsible for quality, weight, and distribution process. – All costs related to manufacturing, transportation, and distribution will be added to the total cost of bread production.

Agriculture Extension Services Support

10 communities were targeted taking -among other factors- the security into consideration (five during the main period, five during NCE period).

10 days of winter season agriculture/veterinary capacity building sessions were held for 1452 MAC beneficiaries (1211 men, 241 women)

10 days of summer season agriculture/veterinary capacity building session were held for 1709 MAC beneficiaries (1456 men, 253 women). After finishing the two training seasons the kits were delivered to 1689 MAC beneficiaries (1439 men, 250 women) who attend the two training seasons.

20 days of winter and summer season training were held for 45 vocational trainees both veterinarian and agronomist technicians (24 agronomists, 21 veterinarians) 33 of them was eligible to receive the kit after finishing this season and the others (12) in addition to 5 of beneficiaries they were replaced by new others moved to the compensatory training that was held in parallel with NCE period.

5 days of compensatory training were held for 1111(197 female, 914 male) MAC beneficiaries (800 NCE beneficiaries, 311 out of 2000 including who attended one training season out of 2 in addition to the new others who take a place instead of those who didn’t attend any season (123 attended one training season, 118 have been replaced).

5 days of agricultural training capacity building were held for 100 agronomist technicians (82 men, 12 women).

2800 MAC beneficiaries receive MAC visit during the second half and NCE period of the program.

Field days about agricultural operations were held for farmers on pest control, of crops and trees, grafting and pruning of trees (wheat, potato, pistachio, and olive) and for livestock holders on livestock feeding, health care.

During the main period and NCE periods of program, it was delivered 2800 agricultural and veterinarian kits to MAC beneficiaries, 125 agricultural tool kits were delivered to agronomist technicians, and 25 veterinary tools for veterinarians in addition to 2050 agricultural and veterinary manuals for both MAC and vocational trainees.

DRR activity was conducted for 45 days targeting 100 beneficiaries during the main period of the program activities, where Elaf DRR team responded to more than 8 fires occurred during harvesting days in many communities (Kafrnabutha, Kafr Zieta, Latmana). The team has performed very well and put out all fires that have occurred and saved the farmers’ crops.
